Boots

These boots were made for walking.
And thats just what they'll do.
One of these days these boots
are gonna walk all over you.

Thomas LOVES shoes (he definitely got that from ME) and here he is seen showing off Hanna's fabulous boots! I think they are perfect, don't you?

BRAVE

I recently became brave enough to...

CUT MY OWN HAIR

This is something that I never thought I would do. After cutting it Daniel said to me, "You must be feeling very confident in yourself right now." And my mom said, "Wow you are brave, desperately brave." I am not sure what was meant by both of these comments... because I thought I did a pretty good job considering I could only see the back of my hair with a hand held pocket sized mirror and only one light in our bathroom works right now so things were a little dark. Then again maybe these are the reasons that I think it looks so GOOD!

What do you think??

I looked out the window...

And what did I see?

POPCORN POPPING AT THE PACKER'S HOUSE!

Sunday night we made some popcorn( a new cinnamon recipe that I found that is highly recommended if you like cinnamon and popcorn of course) and Thomas LOVED watching it POP while singing one of his favorite songs. The POPCORN song of course!

He also liked eating it! But who wouldn't?

p.s. I have a hilarious story about this song. At least I think it is hilarious. We have some kids that live next door to us that like to come up to our patio door and watch/wave to us A LOT. We normally don't mind we just wave back and they get embarrassed and run away. Only to come back minutes later. One night during FHE we were singing our favorite POPCORN song and Daniel quietly said, "look over at the window". I looked over and through our closed blinds (just with a tiny crack open) there was our neighbor girl looking at us through the window. Not only is it hilarious that she was "looking" at us through a tiny crack and for who knows how long. We noticed her right as we were singing "I looked out the window and what did I see... a little korean girl looking right back at me."

Just that kind of day

Yesterday started out to be this kind of a day....

A fit throwing day. "Where did he learn this" one might ask? The answer is, "It wasn't from me!"

We decided to NOT make it that kind of a day. So we got to work in the kitchen.

We dressed up for the event.

We set the table all fall-ish.

And we hosted the first annual HARVEST FEST in the Packer homestead. It was a glorious event that warmed our bellies and cheered our little hearts.
On the menu: Creamy White Chicken Chili, fresh Spaghetti Squash, homemade rolls, and sparkling apple cider to drink.

After dinner we picked out the PERFECT pumpkin and carved it!

HAPPY AUTUMN I hope that we can all find cheer in the changing colors and temperatures.

Today....

TODAY.... is the type of day when I am grateful and proud to be me. LIFE has been on my mind a lot lately. EVERYTHING about it from the miracle of coming into the world, the way that we LIVE while we are here, and then how/when we leave this LIFE here on this EARTH. This post is mostly for myself. It will probably be random and full of SADIE type things but I feel like I need to write them down for my sake. TODAY I LOVE MY LIFE BECAUSE....

I get to be the MOM to this KING (of the world). I get to stay at home in my pajamas if I want ALL day. I get to read him story books. I get to laugh at ridiculous things all day long. I get to take endless pictures. I get to teach him. I get to act like a kid again and my favorite is that I get to LOVE him (probably more then anyone)

Music means so much to me in my life. Here is Big D. playing me a song on the guitar that he wrote. Actually as I type this he is playing in the background and I am grateful for these talents. I once went to a musical production and they had angels EVERYWHERE singing. They were literally surrounding us. It was amazing and something that I will never forget. I feel like in our lives there are angels always watching out for us and I can hear their voices in the music that I hear each day.

It has been 3 years since I fell in love with Big D. He claims I am the one that made all of the first moves like asking him to dance clear back in Junior High and laying my arm on his leg while he played guitar at a bon fire with friends.... I don't remember these things but I am glad that I "did" them. Who would of thought that they could of led to our ETERNAL marriage of almost 3 years. I LOVE HIM and I LOVE knowing that we have ETERNITY to learn and grown and become together.

I am so grateful for my health and my ability to get around and do the things that I love to do. There are so many things that I take for granted and you never know when/how our lives can change. I don't want to sound like Debbie Downer, I want to be grateful for my body that I have been given and never take it for granted.

Last but not least I LOVE THIS picture and I LOVE everything that it represents to me. (let me just mention that it was FREEZING outside when the picture was taken... hence my mom being wrapped up like a "Mary" little mummy! hahaha I just kill myself) I LOVE my mom and my sisters. They are some of the most amazing people that I know. They are the best of friends that a girl could have. THat isn't what this section was going to be about though... the thing that I LOVE most about this picture is that it represents that I LOVE BEING a WOMAN and everything IT ENTAILS.
I know that sounds pretty cheesy right. Well I am proud to be a woman because that also means that I AM A DAUGHTER OF GOD. I have divine qualities and potentials. I LOVE being feminine. I love wearing cute shoes. I love painting my finger nails. I LOVE being a mom and being able to have children. I LOVE cute clothes. I love being able to cry when I want. I love cooking. I love "keeping" house. I love being creative. I love saying that I am QUEEN for the day so I CAN do what I want! I love that my husband say's he is waiting to pass away because he has aged forty years for me to finish this blog. I LOVE the color aqua. I LOVE my husbands HUGE muscles! I LOVE sweets. I LOVE the legacy of women that I come from and I hope to someday be as AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL as they are.

I am grateful to be me and LIVING my life. I am glad that I found my inner princess ( how cheesy is that) and hope to become a little bit better each day by LOVING everything that this life has to offer.

SNOW*SNOW*SNOW

Last Monday we were walking in a WINTER WONDERLAND (let me just remind everyone that it is only OCTOBER) Ty and Brady were out of school for potato harvest and were kind enough to play with us in the SNOW. Thomas thought the snow was cool except that he could hardly move on his own with ALL of his snow clothes on. THomas just loves being with TY and BRADY doing anything and so he thought he was pretty cool just being out there with them.

Building a Thomas sized snowman

Thomas nice and cozy in his new coat and snow-pants.... THanks grandma for letting us borrow the "rose" colored boots that fit where they touch!

More Spaghetti and Meat Balls please...

I made spaghetti and meat balls one night and they were "loved" by all. Thank you Pioneer Woman not only do you help to fill hungry tummies with delicious food you keep smiles on all of the faces in the Packer home. My men love good food and you can tell by these pictures that their bellies (and faces) are full of delicious spaghetti and meat balls!

Look who is growing up

He likes to wear his "DADA'S" hat around

"DADA" and buddy

Showing off his new "SH'S" or shoes

Uncle Brady is one of THomas' favorite people

It wasn't that long ago that we were relaxing outside on a nice summer evening playing "BALL"

I sometimes am in awe at how fast Thomas has grown up.... He is no longer my baby he is now my MAN CHILD. He loves to run races, and play hide and go seek, he is a dancing machine, he is a good eater, he is starting to say quite a few words, he laughs when you tickle his legs, he loves to play with BALLS, he has a mind of his own, he gives the best kisses but only when he wants to, he is a signing time genius, after I wash his hands he will give me a little snuggle and sing me a song in my ear, he has the best hair ever AND he is all mine!
