Sunday Drive

When I was younger we used to go on a lot of Sunday drives.  We usually ended up at Grandpa and Grandma O's,  sometimes we would just drive and look at houses and nature, but they always consisted of dad at the wheel and mom by his side holding his hand and the rest of us kids crammed in the back of our white legendary mini-van.  We would talk, read, sing, laugh, and I am sure fight....but we were together and that is what mattered.  Now that I am older and have a family of my own times are different but I still enjoy a good Sunday drive.  This past Sunday Daniel, Thomas and I jumped in the car.  We headed out with no particular destination in mind...but because of our lack of gas we only made it to Beaver Dick Park.  We took a little walk and played on the swing set.  It was a beautiful day and an enjoyable Sunday drive.

Motel 6

We are really grateful to have a place to live but I am not going to lie... we can't wait to get a nice house of our own someday. Maybe it is the musty smells, or the fact that it always feels humid in our apartment and nothing dries completely, or hearing our neighbors children running all day, or 80 year old carpet that I don't dare touch, or maybe just our cheap version of a motel 6 bathroom. The shower hits Daniel at about his waist, the tub is mini, the toilet seat is not only cheap plastic it is only half of a seat. Not only does our bathroom come with all of these luxuries of a motel 6 the other day (after Daniel cleaned the bathroom) I found our toilet paper folded all nice and fancy like a motel 6! Daniel always talks about how when he was younger he thought that staying in a hotel= fun! Well looks like he found a way to help us have more fun with the luxury of motel 6 toilet paper right here in our apartment! Thanks Babe!

Little Man

Thomas the turtle on Labor Day

Going to church all dressed up

I love his tarantula hands...they are so big and always crawling

Yesterday Thomas turned four months old!  The monkey has learned and changed so much already.  We love him tons and love watching him turn into a little man.  Thomas has never liked to be treated like a baby. He doesn't like to be held and cradled like a baby. He likes to sit up, look around, and be apart of the conversation and everything that is going on. He smiles and "talks" to people that we see in the store. He can roll over from his tummy to his back and then back onto his tummy again. He practically can sit on his own. He is smiling (although not for the camera ever) and laughing and developing a real attitude. He plays games while he is eating and thinks that he is hilarious.  He loves to pull my hair and gets a huge smile on his face if he manages to get a handful!  He grew out of ALL of his clothes these last few weeks, he now wears size 6-12 months (they are slightly big but at the rate he is growing I don't know if they will fit the rest of the month). The little stinker is growing up way too fast and turning into a Little Man. We have our work cut out for us, but it is to be expected look at who his parents are...

I'm a big kid now

Eating his first bite... look at those eyes

ummm... ummm... good

Thomas got to eat rice cereal for the first time last night.  He is growing up and getting so big.  He did such a good job he actually ate the cereal and was super cute while doing it.  First time was a success...way to go my little man!

Book worm

Thomas Reading with Mommy before bed.  He really likes looking at the pictures in books...maybe we have ourselves a little book worm.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY

Twins looking at the fish....it was actually kind of cool

Waiting out the storm...hey bud what do you see?

                                                   Buddy... you there?
A message from my secret admirer

Today we went to Mesa Falls. At least that is where we planned on going...we didn't quite make it there. We jumped in the car after lunch and started on our way and that is when the rain started coming down. It was trickling at first and not that bad, but we could tell that the storm was headed towards us and it would hit only in a matter of time. So we decided to stop at Warm River and look at the fish and then maybe walk up the trail on the old railroad track and maybe wait out the storm....those were our plans until the storm hit...It came fast and strong and we ended up just sitting in our car for 20 minutes before we decided the storm wasn't letting up and it wasn't worth getting wet and cold so we would just head home again. In Ashton there is a restaurant that I have always wanted to stop at...I don't know the name I only know that it has a huge rootbeer float mug as a sign. We thought it would be fun to stop and eat there until we saw that it costed at least 8 bucks just for a hamburger...forget that! Although our day didn't seem successful it was really fun and beautiful up there. The trees are starting to change color and I really do LOVE the rain. Plus we were able to get back in time for the ward elders quorum social which Daniel was thrilled about!

Yea for change

While I was pregnant with Thomas I decided to grow my hair out for the first time ever.  It got long...well long for me...actually the longest it has ever been.  But for those of you who know me I have always had short hair and I LOVE IT.

So....I cut it today and thanks to Erin it looks great.  Here is to a new me!

A FIRST...

Thomas and I both experienced a FIRST yesterday... We got in our first car accident. It wasn't a very exciting or enjoyable first but it was only a little fender bender and neither of us are hurt and everything is ok. We were at a four way stop and after I watched a green bug go through (I remember because I thought it was a really cute car) it was my turn to go so I went and then all of the sudden i heard a crunch and I had collided with another car. He said he didn't see me there but it was my fault, I completely disagree because I was just going after the cute green bug that he happened to be behind. The cop came and said that he wasn't going to fine either of us that accidents happen and that our insurance companies are just going to have to battle it out. YIKES... I hope it all works out and we don't get the bad end of the deal. I wish that Daniel had been there to help me because I was a little emotional and didn't know what to do. All I can say is that I am glad that nobody got hurt... especially Thomas he was just smiling and talking to the police man and paramedics (that were brought in just to check him to make sure that he was ok)

If only...

I had a teacher in high school that would wake up every morning, look in the mirror and say to herself, "I AM SOOO CUTE!" Well if only I was as cute as Thomas then I would enjoy waking up each day and looking (smiling and giggling) at myself in the mirror. I also had a video of him giggling and cooing at himself but I don't know how to post it.
