Roll over! Roll over!

As a proud mother I have to say that Thomas officially can roll from his stomach to his back! This is him in action (sorry it is so dark)  He did it twice on Monday night and now will do it whenever he feels like it....which means not when you want him to! He is just over three months old and is growing up way to fast. We love you more everyday buddy...keep showing us those sweet moves!

The CABIN

Thomas and mommy standing in front of a fire that only a true Eagle Scout could make....Daniel! Nice pregnant stance!

Just a cute little bridge that goes across the creek...

Does anyone see the resemblance? Maybe it is because they are wearing the same hat the same way!

Going for a walk...

Daniel's Grandpa Alden and Dad built this cutest little cabin on their Ranch up past Green Canyon. It is very small and cozy with no electricity....which means no indoor plumbing! yikes....not quite my thing, but so fun just for a day trip. Daniel, his dad, and his brother James spent the day cooking hot dogs, throwing axes at trees, shooting bow and arrows, cleaning out the cabin, cutting down trees, fixing fences, mending leaks in the roof, and pretty much anything manly that you can think of! Thomas and I ate the hot dogs, listened to the creek, took a nap, went for a walk, and ran away from all of the bees. Sorry buddy I know you wanted to hang out with the "big boys" but you were such a trooper and your first trip to the cabin was such a fun and successful day....not including Daniel getting stung by a bee! Thanks Grandpa for taking us!

Kids say the darndest things

In middle school and junior high they had a reading program that was called AR.  They tested you to see what level you were reading.  They gave you a goal and then you had to take tests from books that you read to meet your goal.  The other day Daniel said "I just love to devour books if I was in AR right now my reading level would be sixtieth grade."  I never knew that I married such a genius!  I have a feeling that we are going to be in debt a long time if we have to wait for him to make it all the way to sixtieth grade!

Here is MR. Devour himself pondering all of the books that he has read in the great Idaho outdoors!

Friends

Thomas has already made a great friend.  They talk, laugh, and get a lot of exercise together.  His friends name is.... Big Bird!  Thomas has a toy with Elmo, a mirror, and Big Bird hanging from it and for some reason he will only look at and play with Big Bird. Here they are hanging out this morning.  I quite enjoy his new friend because it gives me a chance to get a few things done without Thomas in my arms!

Mommys little helper

My friend Michelle is going to have a baby in the next few months.  She had a baby shower and I decided to make her a blanket.  I don't really know what I am doing when it comes to sewing ( I even had to call my sister to have her come and thread my machine) but I just go slow and make things up as I go.  Of course I procrastinated getting started and so the night before her shower I had to hurry and get the blanket started.  Now as I mentioned that earlier my sewing skills aren't quite up to par so it was time to call for some help.  Thomas just happened to be the best that I could find...Desperate times call for desperate measures.  The only question left is.... was mommys little helper really helping or hindering my progress?!?

Dinner Time

I am the one that usually cooks in our house.  Daniel is a good cook he just thinks that it is harder then it really is so he doesn't cook that often...until now.  Thomas always thinks he is hungry right when it is time to start dinner!  So Daniel has stepped up to the plate and learned to do a few things while I feed Thomas.  He cooks some mean lasagna, tacos, bite sized quesedillas (sp), spaghetti, and last but not least ramen (which he calls chinese).  He is very detail oriented and so every meal he prepares has a special little touch that he is very proud of.  There have been a few times that I look up into our very stylish kitchen and see my cute gourmet husband multi tasking.... he either plays the guitar or reads while he is working his magic in the kitchen!  I wish I had gotten a picture of him playing the guitar but him reading will just have to do.  Now that he knows that I have been watching him he will probably stop...but it was definitely worth the laugh!

Guy Time

When Daniel gets home from a day at work he feels that he and Thomas need guy time.  They either nap together, ( which consists of Daniel waking Thomas up to play.... the stinker) go for a walk, or just play so that I can get some dinner ready.  On this one particular occasion they watched the mens USA basketball team on our computer.  Thomas loves the TV/computer and he was really excited to be watching and hanging out with dad.  He kept getting closer and closer to the screen and it was too dang cute to not take a picture.  Lets hope his eyesight is ok in the future!

little joys

Recently our lives have been changed and filled with little joys.  They are little hands, little clammy toes, little socks, a little nose, little sleep interrupted by little cries, little lips, a little ticklish bum, little coos (or should I say "whoo" and "hi") little bright blue eyes, little yawns, little cuddles, little clothes, a little wiggly tongue, little laughs, little alone time, little ears, little baths, a little ticklish belly button, a little appetite, little smells and even (any day now) little teeth.  It is hard to believe that all of these little joys come from a pretty little package that can bring so much BIG JOY and LOVE.  We are grateful for our simple lives that are filled with little joys that make our lives worth living!
