We got our stuff. The boys thought it was more exciting than Christmas opening up each box.
I despised having so much "stuff" to put away. Seriously we survived for a week without it. Do we really need it all?
That is what we have spent the majority of our week doing. Staying in out of the heat and finding the perfect spot for all of our odds and ends.
Our place already feels more like home. Mostly because I find Lew's lightening Mcqueen car in every drawer I open, I keep tripping over Daniel's size 12's when I walk around the couch, Lewis already wrote on the walls with pencil, I continue to find Thomas's shin guards in my bed, there are dishes in the sink, and there is at least one ball flying past my head all day long. HOME! We all have each other and our days consist of much of the same things they always have. The only difference is that dad gets home at 5 and stays home. That is a new thing I think we are all adjusting to nicely.
We found a new park just up the street. I have a feeling many summer days will be spent there. Not to mention the little league games we have already watched.
We drove out to the beach one night. That is right! There is a legit sandy beach here. It doesn't smell like the ocean. But, it has sand, water and lifeguards. We weren't completely prepared but enjoyed the night non the less. Thomas even made sand angels. We can't wait to go back again and again.
Thomas is growing up right before my eyes. He is becoming quite the man of the house. He has basically decided to give up on naps. Yuck. He is really into making his own meals. I am trying really hard not to be a control hover mom and have loved seeing some of the things he eats/ can't believe he eats them. The other day he made a turkey and mayo sandwich. He kept telling me how amazing it was. He made it halfway through and told me it gave him a stomach ache. I can only imagine why!
We got locked out of our house. Monday night we went for a family walk. We locked the front door went through the garage and neither of us thought to grab the keys or the garage door opener. Not the proudest moment in our lives. We sat around for 2 hours watching the locksmith sweat as he tried to pick the lock. We now have a key hidden outside.
We also have some big news. After being a one car family for 5 1/2 years we were able to get another car tonight. SO EXCITING. Maybe I will feel more grownup driving it? Maybe? Either way we all love it and are so excited to be able to get around now and not always be stuck at home. Watch out Erie, here we come!
