Lately we have been feeling BLAH.
Daniel is super busy at school.
The rest of us have colds. So we have been staying home.
Literally only leaving to pick Daniel up at the end of the day.
Yikes. We are all feeling BLAH.
Sick of being Sick.
On top of that we ARE NOT sleeping well.
It may be that we don't feel well.
But, I am pretty sure it is because all four of us are "sleeping" in our queen sized bed. Every night. And have been for a few weeks now.
Daniel and I belong there.
Thomas comes in half way through the night and claims he is scared of the dark. When he is told that he is going back to his bed he gets angry and mean. And YELLS with a squinchy face "NO." I am afraid he is going to wake up the babe that is right there and usually give in.
Lewis refuses to sleep anywhere besides my arms. Seriously he will be asleep and as soon as I lay him down he squirms and fusses. I wouldn't mind if he was in his own room. He isn't. He is right next to us. I go and pick him up. Rock him back to sleep. Lay him down. He squirms and he fusses. This goes on UNTIL I pick him up and lay down in my bed with him. He instantly relaxes and doses off to sleep.
Last night Daniel just ended up on the floor. I am not sure why he didn't go to the couch. He is a delirious sleeper.
We are in need of a serious intervention. I am just not sure when it will take place. That would mean a lot of effort on my part!
On a lighter note....
We love our decorations. Thomas is fabulous at arranging the nativity. It is so cute.
We love pulling off chains and eating chocolates out of our advent calendar.
Excited for school to end and our Christmas festivities to begin.
Excited to make christmas desserts. And to eat them.
Excited to see family.
Excited to have my husband 24 hours a day!
Excited to get out of these BLAHS.
I love this time of year.
* the balloon is from a birthday that he attended. We didn't get the holidays mixed up. Although I do think balloons make things more fun.
Also the last pictures are proof that we are feeling the BLAHS in our home.
Here is to a HAPPY MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.

Dear Santa
Santa Darling,
I am having a hard time deciding what I really want for Christmas this year. For some reason I don't have anything particular in mind. Not even an article of clothing. I know you think I must be sick, for I dearly love clothes. But I'm not. I just cant think of much at this time.
You told me that I had to write a list anyway. So..... I guess I will go searching.
All I want for Christmas is....
1. A bodybugg.
2. A painting kit. Particularly this one here.
3. A sewing kit. This one looks pretty cute.
4. A Vintage Pearl or Lisa Leonard necklace. So I can always have a reminder of my most important miracles.
5. A piano. Hey you said anything I wanted in my wildest dreams.
6. A hair cut
7. A cutting board. (Thanks again)
8. This adorable journal. I have been lacking in my big one. It's hard keeping up with three journals. I just love this simple idea.
9. Anything for my kitchen. Remember we don't have much room though. But, I always love a good cookbook. Plus my crockpot and blender have been broken a long time.
10. I am into reading Biographies these days and wouldn't mind getting another to read. Something inspiring please.
11. Anything pretty or vintagey. Is that even a word?
12. A lipstain and nailpolish for my stocking would be nice.
I am afraid that the list could go on and on. I just love finding fun and pretty things that I don't normally get to think about. But, I know this amount will already overwhelm you so I will end here.
Thanks again my Dearest Darling Santa.
I know you will find just the right gift.
LOVE,
Sadie Lynn
* note I am too lazy to link you to all of these places. Come and ask me Santa and I will direct you to them personally.

Take the PICT-TURE
We got some family pictures taken.
I love remembering.
I love that I have something to help me remember my life just as it is now.
Simple and Joyful.
I love love remembering my silly men. These pictures show a lot of their personalities.
Life is a Party
We have been super busy the last few weeks.
Birthday Celebrations. Steak and German Chocolate Cake. Turning the big 26. He doesn't think this is going to be a good year. He doesn't think that 26 is a fun number. I disagree. We have plenty of unexpected turns in our life this next year and I am excited to see how it all works out.
Visitors. Visitors. More Visitors.
Weddings. Oh how I love Weddings. There is always something so magical about weddings.
Thanksgiving. Family. Traveling. Food. Family. Food. Shopping.
More family.
Snow storms.
Christmas decorating. Trees. Ornaments. Lights. Countdowns.
And this whole week I am afraid that we haven't done anything. We have just stayed inside out of the cold. Enjoyed our decorations. Watched a few movies. Washed some clothes. Scrubbed some bathrooms. Studied. Studied and Studied. Just tried to get back into the swing of life.
Of course we have millions of pictures. Thats what you get when we are just hanging out here around the house.

Simple and Joyful
These last few days have seemed hectic.
I participated in my first boutique. Which was an experience.
It was really small with little traffic making it hard to sell anything.
Needless to say I knew the right people to call!
I had my lovely sister stay the night.
She is good company.
It is nice to be so comfortable with someone that you can just relax and not talk all the time. That is how I am with her. We just like being together.
Then I hosted a bridal shower for a friend/cousin?!
It was a fun little girls day.
I have been so busy that my boys have been watched by others for hours each day. That never happens. I am usually always with them.
It was a nice break to be away.
BUT....
It has been even nicer to come home to them, my men, and get back to our SIMPLE yet JOYFUL life.
I got to bathe them.
I got to read story books.
I got to snap pictures of D and T in the snow.
Yes, that is right it officially snowed here and stuck to the ground.
They looked so cute making snow angels and throwing snowballs at each other.
They even made a snowman. Almonds made up his eyes nose and mouth. We didn't have anything else.
I even laughed until I cried today. I don't know if that has ever happened before. Thomas found himself a girlfriend at McDonalds. They loved each other. It was so cute and apparently funny all at the same time.
I get to be the mom and the wife again. I get to do the things that I love. The things that make my life what it is. Simple and Joyful.

Perfectly Chilled
Today I am chilled to the bone and warmed in my heart.
I am perfectly chilled.
We took family pictures.
I am so excited to see how they turned out.
It was cold outside.
Bone chillingly cold.
I thought it was fun to pick out outfits. I don't think the boys cared.
We threw leaves. The vibrant yellows glittered in the sunlight.
Acted shy?!
Smiled. Made faces.
Ate marshmallows.
Held hands... even kissed.
It warmed my heart to make memories of "my men"
I cherish all of the small and simple things about them.
Someday my memory might fail me... but I forever want to remember. I loved capturing some of these things on film.
Then we came home. All of my men snuggled under blankets and drifted off to dreamland.
I sat up to the sewing machine with my trusty old rice pack and worked on some "lovelies" for the Boutique this weekend. I am super excited. (check previous post for more info)
Now I am off to go and make some nice hot soup to devour for dinner. I wish it would make itself. I would like to drift off to dreamland as well. To dream about his absolutely perfect chilled day that I got to spend with my men.

Beautiful Life
Today I went running for the first time post babe number two.
It was tough.
I would say that I made it 1.5 miles consistently running.
My whole life before this no matter how long it had been in between runs, I could always go at least three.
I felt like I had to re-teach my legs to stride out.
I felt like my lungs were going to burst.
I felt like my pelvic bone was crushing.
I kept spitting every other step. (thanks Morgan)
I wished that I had someone to run with. If they were talking to me it would help me to take my mind off of my "OLD" body.
I say "OLD" like that because I know I am not old. I should be in the prime of my life. Physically. Mentally. But, after two children I sometimes feel "OLD"
Then as I wogged (that is what we like to call a jog that is as slow as a walk) along, the song, "Beautiful Life" by none other than Ace of Base came on my little Mp3 player that Daniel got me for Christmas a few years back. (he was sick of me borrowing his Ipod and sticking it down my bra while I ran... because I didn't have any other place to put it)
Anyway, back to "Beautiful Life" and wogging. My feet didn't miraculously pick up quicker. My lungs didn't stop burning. But in my mind I stopped complaining about them and that made all the difference.
My road back to being considered a runner is going to be hard. I think the hardest part is going to be going again.
But for now I am super proud of myself.
Thanks Ace of Base. You are right. It really is a Beautiful Life!
*Note: that is a picture of me on top of Table Rock last summer. I was proud of myself then as well!

Dear November....and then some
Dear November.
Today was the first.
You were oh so good to us.
Thank you!
We played outside for hours and hours and didn't freeze.
We actually took off our jackets and basked in the sunlight.
We jumped in a few puddles and made footprints after.
We went down the slides and made new friends.
We ran up and down some hills and away from some dogs. Even with a leash dogs can be intimidating when they are your own size.
We snuck into the halloween candy and ate carmel apples.
and then.... I fell in love with this video today.
The pictures of the kids with marshmallows are perfect.
So is this quote.
"Patience means staying with something until the end. It means delaying immediate gratification for future blessings. The work of patience boils down to this. Keep the commandments. Trust in God our Heavenly Father. Serve him with meekness and Chrislike love. Exercise faith and hope in the Savior and never give up."
-Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Today I will be more patient with my children and fully enjoy this season of my life.
Because of days like today, November first.
It was oh so good.

Happy Hauntings
Halloween is such a fun holiday.
Treats. Costumes. Treats. Scary Movies. Treats. Family. "Punkmens". and more Treats.
So fun right?!
We started off the week visiting the pumpkin walk. Also known as the Punkmen walk.
It was freezing cold.
We took pictures in cut outs.
We got hot cocoa from Mcdonalds.
We spent the week making costumes.
Picking out patterns.
Picking out fabrics.
Sewing... Sewing... Sewing
We had a delicious dinner Friday night with family.
Then off to the ward Trunk-or-Treat.
Thomas and Lewis dressed up as clowns. Cute Cute Clowns.
Thomas loved saying trick or treat.
He was excited.
But didn't shove or push his way through with excitement.
He stood back and watched. Waited his turn. (where did that patience come from?)
Some costumes scared him. Almost paralyzed him.
Then he ran around with some other kids.
His little curly head bobbing on top of his giantly plump clown suit!
Lewis helped daddy pass out candy and was content being outside.
The weather was perfect.
Saturday we headed to Honeyville for a family party with the Jones's.
For chili and homemade root beer.
Fishing ponds. Cake walks. and another Trunk-or-Treat.
We came home with new trucks and motorcycles to add to our collection.
It was raining outside so Lewis, Becky and I stayed under an umbrella as we followed the others around.
Daniel, Thomas and Lewis dressed up as clowns. I put on face paint.
There was a pretty double rainbow. Donuts in the fire house.
We got plenty of candy. Plenty of candy to last us hopefully longer then a week.
We finished the evening watching Hocus Pocus.
Sunday we made the traditional Ghost cookies.
Delicious.
Halloween is such a fun holiday.
Even if I buy candy every year and have never once had trick or treaters...
