Happiness IS...

Happiness comes in many forms.

I have some things in life that consistently bring happiness.  My men.  The sunshine after a long winter.  Newly painted finger nails.  Creating something.  Good kisses.  Helping others.  Ice Cream.  Talking to a dear friend or loved one.

There are other things that can randomly happen in a day that bring so much joy.  Like the dental hygienist complimenting my children.  Listening to Frank Sinatra and dancing in the kitchen.  A lady holding the door open for me at the store. Things that are the cherry on top of life.

Today Thomas experienced happiness in one of its purest, sweetest, childlike forms.  He has spent the last few days waiting for the UPS man to deliver a pair of soccer shoes.  (a man after my own heart.  A true lover of shoes!)  I don't know if it was more exciting to be getting shoes or if it was more exciting to receive his very own package.  But, to say he was excited was an understatement.  These shoes are all that we have talked about for weeks.  Yesterday after school he was playing outside and almost burst with excitement when the UPS man turned down our road.... only to have his hopes dashed, and then some, when the package was delivered to our next door neighbor.  Today was the same scenario.  Playing outside waiting somewhat impatiently for the UPS man to turn down our street.  The UPS man delivering a package to two of our neighbors and then finally a package just for THOMAS hand delivered to him!

It was pure happiness for me as a mother to see Thomas's eyes light up.
It was pure happiness for me as a mother as he couldn't hardly function. He couldn't make his body do what it needed to do to open the box.  He just kept talking and moving around.
It was pure happiness for me as a mother to watch him play and play and play.  Using his healthy happy body to do something that brings him pure happiness.

This boy right here is the epitome of happiness most of the time.  This picture brings pure happiness into my life.  So carefree and silly.  I couldn't help but add it onto the blog of memories.  I want to always remember how amazing the sunshine felt today and how happy it made all of us.  I want to always remember this silly boys personality at this age.  SO stubborn.  So hilarious.  SO SO SO silly.
