The boys were pumped with the idea.
New T-shirts.
Hot dogs at the finish.
Chalk and bubbles with friends.
Then the run started and they both wanted to be carried the whole time.
WHAT!?!?!
Mom trying to change the subject and distract them from the matter at hand definitely didn't do the job. No amount of "I SPY" or "lets see if we can make it to that pole" seemed to help their attitudes.
T cheered up when he found a friend his age. He even had energy all of the sudden to run the rest of the race! Did I mention this friend was a girl!?!
L's mood changed when he got a juice box to drink 1/2 way through.
Oh the funny things that motivate us!
Even though we came in last place. Overall we had a really fun afternoon. The boys each ate enough hot dogs to last them a lifetime. New friends were made. Laughs were shared. And we even got some "running" in!
