the life

we are living the summer dream.
"the life"
we are eating up all of the sun and enjoying our time at the swimming pool.
(almost everyday)
the summer dream I tell you!

Thomas is a lounger.  he dips in and then has to grab a snack.  then he dips in again and shows everyone that he can touch the bottom of the hot tub and then has to dry off.  then he borrows a tortiddo (torpedo) from some friends.  then he opens the gate for someone else. then he needs a drink.  then he walks along the edge of the hot tub.  then he lounges on his tube.  then he might "go under" up to his mouth so he can blow some bubbles.  then he is bugged because somebody splashed him.  then he wipes his face off and warms up on the lounge chair. then he borrows someones life jacket and swims out and back and needs it taken off immediately and the whole process starts over with an occasion bathroom break in there.   i wouldn't say that he loves the water.  just his friends, the atmosphere, his spiderman goggles and the experience.  there is no rushing the boy.  it is all on his own time.  and we celebrate the small milestones.  such as touching the bottom of the hot tub and blowing bubbles.  and each day hope for a little more progress.  silly silly boy.

Lewis on the other hand loves the water.  he already thinks he should be swimming on his own.  he is constantly wiggling away from you to get in further.  he will sit in his floaty for a few minutes and then decides to drink the water and tries to climb out so i usually end up holding him.  he will splash and doesn't care if others splash him.  he is my wild child for sure.  love it.

After swimming.  we dry off outside while eating popsicles which may make jumping into the freezing cold pool worth it.  they both agree.

haha. Thomas' swimming rituals. That's hilarious and I love that you documented it. Those are the types of things he will be so grateful to have later when he wants to know what he was like as a kid. You do such a great job at that.
Love those boys! Thomas looks so big with that buzz. And when did Lew get so big?? We're excited to see you guys this weekend.

They get cuter all the time (if that is possible). You are lucky to have a pool right there. What fun!
